ODWIRA 2021 – INTERSCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION!

At the end of the keenly contested four rounds of answering questions on culture/history, Okuapeman Senior High School was crowned the overall winners at the 1st ever Odwira Festival Interschool Quiz Competition. Receiving a winning trophy, Gold medals, an amount of 1,000 cedis and other souvenirs.
The competition was dubbed; Odwira 2021 Interschool Quiz Competition, and organized by the Odwira planning Committee in collaboration with Akuapem Education Trust as its headline sponsor, was in honor of Paramount Chief of the Akuapem Traditional Area, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III.
5 Senior High Schools from the Akuapem Municipalities were selected to participate in the maiden edition of the quiz competition.
The schools; Okuapeman Senior High School (OKUASS), Aburi Girls High School (ABUGISS), H’Mount Sinai Senior High School, Adukrom Presby Senior High Technical School and Aburi Presby Senior High Technical School were taken through weeks of intensive grooming and preparation ahead of the competition.
Mr. Abednego Opey, the Programmes Manager at Akuapem Education Trust in an interview after the competition indicated that the competition is to help ignite interest in culture and history in the students at an early stage to help promote the rich culture of Okuapeman.
He also revealed that the Akuapem Education Trust will increase the number of participating schools in the next edition.
“It was not easy getting the schools but all the same we managed to get some even though we envisaged engaging more during the first competition. Going forward we have learnt our lessons and next year we will involve more schools”.
